Religious broadcasters have cashed in by selling their stations’ broadcast frequencies back to the FCC. In return, the FCC is re-licensing this wireless spectrum to the cell phone companies.
Trinity Broadcasting Network station WWTO sold for $304,250,040. TVNewsCheck reports about TBN, “And as a group, the religious broadcaster was No. 2 in auction loot, selling seven stations for a total of $634.3 million.”
The FCC spent $1,223,872,598 acquiring the broadcast frequencies from religious stations.
